Alieu Fuad Nyei is an economist and public finance management specialist with over fifteen (15) years of experience in macroeconomic management, public finance, public budgeting, economic regulation, financial modeling and public sector reforms. Prior to joining LERC, Mr. Nyei served as Assistant Minister for Expenditures at Liberia’s Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP) where he led fiscal management reforms such as development and implementation of fiscal rules, travel policies and perdiems reform, cash management reforms, etc.
Mr. Nyei holds an MPA in Economic Policy Management, with an Energy and Environment concentration from the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) at Columbia University in the City of New York; an MSc in International Finance and Economic Development (IFED) from the University of Reading, UK; and is a Certified Financial Modelling and Valuation Analyst (FMVA) from the Corporate Finance Institute. Mr. Nyei has attended executive education programs in organizational leadership, Utility Regulation and Strategy, public financial management and macroeconomic management at the Harvard Kennedy School, London School of Economics, University of Florida, International Monetary Fund (IMF) institute, among others.
