Amara M. Kamara, BPA, MA, MSc, is a results-driven professional with a diverse educational background and extensive experience in project management, policy development, and capacity building within the energy sector. He possesses a track record of driving positive outcomes through effective leadership, strategic planning, and data-driven decision-making. Skilled in identifying and solving complex problems, he demonstrates a commitment to sustainability and adaptability.

He is recognized for his expertise in project monitoring and evaluation, stakeholder engagement, and fostering organizational development. As a forward-thinking individual, he has demonstrated an ability to navigate dynamic environments and contribute to the advancement of energy regulation and development initiatives. He is an immediate Focal person of the Liberia Petroleum Regulatory Authority- LPRA of the Joint Presidential Transition Team, JPTT.

As a Commissioner at the Liberia Electricity Regulatory Commission, He brings a wealth of expertise in project management, sustainable development, and policy to drive regulatory reforms, promote stakeholder collaboration and utility management, and advance sustainable energy development in Liberia. With a commitment to excellence and innovation, he plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of the electricity sector and achieving the country’s quest for energy sovereignty.

Amara M. Kamara holds a Bachelor of Public Administration (BPA), Master of Arts (MA) in Development Studies, and Master of Science (MSc) in Project Management, respectively.
